Carbon has become a hot commodity. The world bank recently reported that the carbon market has grown from $500 million to $30 billion in just two years. As the Kyoto Protocol and other carbon constraining legislation comes into force in jurisdictions around the world, investors, underwriters, lenders and traders are earning returns of 40, 60 and even 100 percent. Carbon finance is real and driving business deals. Hear how investors, financiers and underwriters are already using offsets and Kyoto mechanisms to achieve high rates of returns and profits. What opportunities exist for Canadian business in carbon finance? What impact will China and other emerging economies have on the global carbon market in the next decade?
